Financial spread betting and CFD trading broker DF Markets have released yet another update of the desktop version of our DFTrader platform.
Besides the usual bug fixes and workflow optimisation, there is a change in the way Logical positions are managed.
As you probably know, all Logical orders form positions which you can manage aggregately, separately or selectively – according to your preferences.
Up until now, there was an option to close all of your Logical positions in one instrument with a single click on the ‘X’ (Close) button at the right-hand side of the position’s row. With this new update, they have decided to remove that button when you are in Logical mode.
The reason behind this is to prevent aggregated Logical positions from being mistakenly closed while in Logical mode. The Close Position option has also been removed from the context menu, which can be accessed by right-clicking on the position.
You can still manage your Logical positions aggregately, but to close any one of them, you have to expand them downward – by clicking the little ‘+’ button at the left-hand side of the position. Then all you have to do is choose which of your Logical positions in that instrument you wish to close.
Please note that you still have the option to close your entire net position in an instrument, which will effectively liquidate all your open logical positions in that instrument, by simply deactivating the Logical mode. Once you do that, you will notice that the ‘X’ (Close) button is active and ready for use.
Another new feature worth mentioning is that the number of Conditional orders you can place has been increased from 30 to 100 – which will allow you to implement even more complex semi-automated trading strategies.
